Website buyer guides

What does a small business website cost?

Understand the scope behind a website price, from pages and content to CMS features and ongoing costs.

By Innowink · Website development & UI/UX design

A useful website price describes the work being bought. At Innowink, the Core Website Scope starts at US$1,500 for up to five agreed pages. The Expanded Website Scope starts at US$2,000 for up to eight agreed pages. These references apply to manufacturing redesigns and new websites, subject to confirmed scope; they are not estimates of the whole market.

Start with the customer's task

List what a visitor should be able to do: understand a service, browse products, request a quotation, book a time, or pay for an order. Each task has different design and development requirements. A contact form and a payment checkout are not interchangeable features.

Our Cobija Industries project organised manufacturing information and a product catalogue around buyer enquiries. Happy Tea used menu categories and product presentation to help customers explore drinks. Both needed a website, but their information structures served different tasks. You can inspect the projects in our portfolio.

What changes the scope?

  • Pages and templates: five similar service pages require different work from five unique interactive layouts.
  • Content management: define which fields your team needs to edit, such as menu items, products, articles, or service descriptions.
  • Integrations: payments, bookings, membership accounts, and external systems require their own setup and testing.
  • Content readiness: copywriting, photography, and importing a large catalogue are separate tasks.
  • Languages: translation, right-to-left layouts, and bilingual editing add scope beyond an English website.

Separate the build from ongoing costs

Ask who pays for the domain, hosting, fonts, plugins, and platform subscriptions. Also ask what happens after the included bug support ends. A one-time development fee does not mean those services remain free indefinitely.

Make a budget useful

For example, a homepage, company page, product overview, manufacturing capabilities page, and contact page may fit the Core Website Scope, subject to the actual work. Product-detail pages, catalogue fields, imports, and initial uploads must be listed separately in the proposal; a five-page allowance is not an unlimited catalogue allowance. Website Growth is optional monthly support, not a website-build package. Ecommerce checkout is separately scoped.

Send your required pages, one or two reference websites, any integrations, and the content you already have. We can then check your brief against the published package scope and identify additions before the project begins.
